Meta's Expanding Smartglasses Ecosystem: New Collaborations and Advanced Features
Meta is expanding its smartglasses lineup with multiple new projects, according to a Bloomberg report. Key among these is a potential partnership with Oakley for the Supernova 2, designed for cyclists and sports enthusiasts, featuring a central camera and inspired by the Oakley Sphaera visor-style design. Meanwhile, the Ray-Ban Meta range will continue, with plans to launch Hypernova, a successor that includes a lens-mounted screen for notifications and apps, potentially priced at $1,000. Meta is also developing companion wearables like a wristband codename Ceres and a smartwatch-like device. Additionally, the company plans to release the Orion AR prototype to developers in 2026, followed by consumer-focused Artemis smartglasses in 2027. These initiatives aim to maintain Meta's competitive edge in the emerging smartglasses market.
